Sample Itinerary
Day 1 Depart on your Southwest Adventure. Tonight’s overnight stop will be in Ohio. Check into your hotel where you will spend the night. Dinner is on your own this evening.
Day 2 A continental breakfast is served this morning at the hotel before checking out. Don’t forget to set your watches one hour earlier as you enter the Central Standard Time Zone. Arrival today in St. Louis, Missouri with a stop at the St. Louis Gateway Arch reflecting St. Louis’ role as the gateway to the West. There will also be time to visit The Museum of Westward Expansion, which preserves some of the rarest artifacts from the days of Lewis and Clark. Later, depart for your hotel. Dinner is served this evening. (CB/D)
Day 3 A continental breakfast is served this morning at the hotel. Afterwards, check out of the hotel and depart for Oklahoma. Today, enjoy a visit to the Will Rogers Memorial in Claremore, Oklahoma, which houses many artifacts and memorabilia that chronicle his life. After the visit, continue on to the Tulsa, Oklahoma area for tonight’s overnight stop. Dinner is served this evening in a local restaurant. (CB/D)
Day 4 A continental breakfast is served this morning at the hotel. After breakfast, check out of the hotel. Continue on to the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Visit the many galleries highlighting the American Frontier and Prosperity Junction, the recreation of a 1900’s cattle town. Today, travel along famous Route 66. See the fun-filled Cadillac Ranch, a collection of Cadillac’s representing the “Golden Age of American Automobiles.” Check into the hotel in the Amarillo, Texas for the next two nights. Day 5 A continental breakfast is served this morning at the hotel. Following breakfast, depart for the magnificent Palo Duro Canyon State Park in Canyon, Texas to view the “Grand Canyon of Texas.” Enjoy a visit to Elkins Ranch including an exciting jeep ride through the canyon. Admission is included to the Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum – the largest history museum in Texas. Dinner is included later this evening. (CB/D)
Day 6 A continental breakfast is served this morning at the hotel. After breakfast, check out of the hotel and depart for the big “D”, Dallas, Texas. This afternoon, a visit to the “Sixth Floor” Museum is included which depicts the legacy of President John F. Kennedy. Continue on to the hotel where you will stay for the next two nights. A visit to Grapevine Mills Shopping Complex is included this evening where you can enjoy some shopping and dinner on your own. (CB)
Day 7 A continental breakfast is served this morning at the hotel. After breakfast, depart for a guided tour of the city of Dallas. Later today, enjoy a guided tour of the “Ewing” Mansion at the Southfork Ranch made famous in the TV show, “Dallas.” Dinner is served this evening in a local restaurant. (CB/D)
Day 8 A continental breakfast is served this morning at the hotel. Following breakfast, check out of the hotel. This afternoon, enjoy a sightseeing boat cruise on the Red River in Louisiana where you will enjoy the tranquil beauty of Shreveport, Louisiana along the historic Red River and Cross Bayou. Later today, enjoy a guided tour of a beautiful historic home Mississippi. Afterwards, continue on to tonight’s overnight stop in Mississippi. Check into the hotel where you will spend the evening. Dinner is served in a local restaurant tonight. (CB/D)
Day 9 A continental breakfast is served this morning at the hotel. Check out of the hotel as you make your way homeward. Don’t forget to reset your watches one hour later as you reenter the Eastern Standard Time Zone. Arrival and check into the hotel in Chattanooga, Tennessee where you will stay the night. Dinner is served this evening in a local restaurant. (CB/D)
Day 10 A continental breakfast is served this morning at the hotel. After breakfast, check out of the hotel and depart for a ride on Lookout Mountain’s Incline Railway, “America’s Most Amazing Mile.” Continue on to Virginia for tonight’s overnight stay. Check into the hotel where you will spend the night. Dinner is on your own this evening. (CB)
Day 11 A continental breakfast is served this morning at the hotel. After breakfast, check out of the hotel and continue home. (CB)
